Dispersive mirror characterization and application for mid-infrared post-compression

چکیده

Abstract This paper presents a second harmonic assisted spectrally resolved interferometric technique that can overcome the limited spectral resolution of commercially available spectrometers in mid-infrared. The discussed scheme was validated by measuring group delay several well-known and frequently used materials. Our main motivation to characterize phase shift newly designed manufactured dispersive mirrors be for mid-infrared (MIR) post-compression. These were successfully implemented post-compression stage our MIR laser system, where pulse duration shortened below two optical cycles peak power increased 30.3% compared original output.

Characterization of mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers

Quantum cascade lasers provide some of the highest output powers available for light in the mid-infrared range (from 3 to 8 μm). As many of their applications require portability, designs that have a high wall-plug efficiency are essential, and were designed and grown by others to achieve this goal. However, because a large fraction of these devices did not operate at all, very few of the stand...

Efficient broadband highly dispersive HfO2/SiO2 multilayer mirror for pulse compression in near ultraviolet

We report on design, production and implementation of a highly dispersive broadband dielectric multilayer mirror covering near ultraviolet range from 290 nm to 350 nm. The described mirrors, having 92% spectrally averaged reflectance in the ultraviolet range and ∼ 85 fs of group delay difference, that allow compression to ∼ 7 fs, provide a strong foundation for generation of few-fs pulses in th...

Generation and characterization of tunable mid-infrared femtosecond pulses

In this Chapter we describe the design of an optical parametric amplifier that allows the generation of infrared laser pulses suitable for ultrafast nonlinear spectroscopy on the OH-stretching mode of water molecules. Mid-infrared femtosecond pulses, tunable in the range of 2800-3800 cm with sub-100 fs duration and ~15 μJ energy are produced by an optical parametric amplifier driven at 1 kHz by...

Direct mid-infrared femtosecond pulse shaping with a calomel acousto-optic programmable dispersive filter.

Direct amplitude and phase shaping of mid-infrared femtosecond pulses is realized with a calomel-based acousto-optic programmable dispersive filter transparent between 0.4 and 20 μm. The shaped pulse electric field is fully characterized with high accuracy, using chirped-pulse upconversion and time-encoded arrangement spectral phase interferometry for direct electric field reconstruction techni...
